Developed by the National Institute of Informatics (NII) of Japan, this portal provides access to some important reference databases: CiNii (for papers and theses), Webcat Plus (for books), NII-DBR (for subject indexes and bibliographies, such as Japanese Sociological Bibliography), and JAIRO (for content in Japanese institutional repositories). CiNii is partially free – about 15% of articles can be downloaded for free, while the others are totally free.
