Universal Digital Library (a.k.a. Million Book Project).
A joint project between Carnegie Mellon University and other institutions in China, India, and Egypt, the Universal Digital Library currently provides access to 1 million books, a large percentage of which is in Chinese. Djvu needs to be installed to reach the scanned images of the books. According to its Chinese partner’s website, most (if not all) of the Chinese books are works that are out of copyright protection.
